words matter. be heard. women matter. speak up. children matter. take care. you matter. reach out.

We think. We speak. We sing. We write. We read. Our hearts rejoice in each other’s living and imagination.

How many days does a writer trudge uphill in pursuit of a path to express truth and to connect?

Taste Life Twice

“We write to taste life twice, in the moment and in retrospection.”—Anaïs Nin

Writing transcends the muddle and magic of seven decades and the present. My beloved family and my writer's’ group fuel my passion. After ten years teaching high school speech, composition, and literature and thirty-plus years crafting and managing curriculum and business plans for Crate&Barrel, writing memoirs, fiction, and poetry frees a part of my spirit long ignored. Stanford’s Continuing Studies’ creative writing and psychology courses challenge my craft and consciousness. The diversity and delights of Northern California fill me with gratitude. So do you. Thank you for reading and responding to my work.

My writing is published in Quail Belle Magazine, Adanna Journal’s Fall 2020 Issue of Mothering in a Pandemic, Passager Journal’s Pandemic Diaries, The Weekly Avocet #450, Personal Story Publishing Project’s 2021 Fall Trouble, 2022 Fall Twists and Turns, 2023 Fall Sooner or Later, Prometheus Dreaming Journal, The Closed Eye Open, Capsule Stories 2022 Autumn Edition, and They Call Us Catty 2024.

Memoir, essay, poetry, fiction. . .I write from the heart about what I struggle to understand and what I celebrate.
